Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that Operation Sindoor has redrawn the contours of India’s defence policy, asserting that the operation sent a strong message to adversaries—that no act of aggression will go unpunished and terrorists will be hunted down “even in the depths of hell.”
Addressing a public gathering in Gaya, his first visit to Bihar since the Pahalgam terror attack, Modi recalled pledging on Bihar’s soil to avenge the killings. “Bihar is the land of Chanakya and Chandragupta Maurya. Every resolve taken here strengthens the nation. After Pahalgam, I vowed to reduce terrorists to dust. The world has witnessed that promise fulfilled,” he said.
Highlighting India’s resilience during cross-border strikes, the Prime Minister stated, “Pakistan attacked us with drones and missiles, but India scattered them like twigs. Operation Sindoor has drawn a new line of defence policy—no enemy will escape justice. India’s missiles will track terrorists wherever they hide.”
Alongside his strong remarks on national security, Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth around ₹13,000 crore in Gaya. These included major energy, healthcare, and infrastructure initiatives aimed at boosting industry and creating new jobs in Bihar.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated a cancer hospital and research centre, stressing his government’s commitment to easing the struggles of the poor and women. “I derive the greatest happiness from removing difficulties in people’s lives,” he said.
Handing over keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Modi reiterated his resolve to provide every needy citizen with a pucca house. “In the last 11 years, more than four crore homes have been built for the poor. In Bihar alone, over 38 lakh families have received pucca houses, restoring their dignity. Facilities like electricity, water, and gas are also being provided,” he added.
Over 16,000 families in Magadh region received homes under PMAY on Friday. Modi assured that the housing scheme would continue until every poor household owns a pucca home.
